DESIGNING SYSTEMS THAT WORK FOR
HUMANS
ABOUT ME.
My name is Nayara Faria, I use she/her pronouns.

I am an engineer, researcher, and citizen of the world, committed to working on things that do good for people and the planet.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais, Brazil (2016). I also received a Master of Science in Human Factors & Ergonomics from Virginia Tech (2019). Currently, I'm a Ph.D. student in Cognitive Engineering, under the supervision of Dr. Joe Gabbard. I am expected to defend my dissertation in 2023.

I believe that more than technological advances, we need to fully understand human limitations and capabilities when interacting with emerging technologies. I am interested in the intersection of HCI, UX Research, Perception & Cognition, and AR/VR. Looking ahead, my goal is to create safe, delightful, and supportive experiences for every user.
